How do I prevent Google Drive from changing the formatting of a Word ...
The thing is that i do not open the doc in google docs - i only store it in google drive and edit and open it with Microsoft Word. When editing the document, saving it in google drive, and then reopening it again after a certain amount of time, the text format changed automatically. So i never open/edit the document in Google Docs.

MS Word formatting to Google Doc - Google Drive Community
When I open my MS Word document in Google Docs the formatting is lost. I have tried saving in docx and MS Work 97-2004 to no avail. Formatting always get messed up when opening in Google docs.

Drive not automatically converting from MS Word to Google Docs format
I would prefer to have an option to automatically convert to a Google doc. Also, it is unclear what exactly it means to leave it in Word format to edit on Drive. It would be nice to have a list of the difference (s) in features between these two options (Google doc vs. keep in Word format)..

Convert Google Doc to Word, and keep formatting.
Convert Google Doc to Word, and keep formatting. I've created check boxes in Docs, and want them in Word as well. When I download to Word docx, it shows as bullets. I need it to be check boxes. I've tried to convert to PDF, but then how do I get it from PDF format to Word? Another issue, I created lines for someone to type an answer on the line.
