Has anyone had any success cashing bonds in person recently? If there is a bank that is more willing to do it I can check with them. UPDATE: Wells Fargo was happy to cash them out, at a limit of $1000/day since I wasn’t a customer.

Are renewal terms mandatory on a CD? I opened up a 5 month CD with Wells Fargo that has a 3 month renewal term. Truth is I’d get a wells trade invest in low expense mutual funds like vanguard or class A mutual fund shares because they have deals with certain mutual funds to waive the front load fee.
I called Wells Fargo and despite their phone tree being absolute shit, they were able to confirm they have no record of any account in my name and my # is not in their system. The red flags for me were the main company # being on the caller ID and the fact that the supposed identity thief used my phone number on the account.
