Windows 11 now forcibly updates apps from the Microsoft Store – and not everyone is happy
Don't want forced updates for your Windows 11 apps? Microsoft Store no longer gives you a choice in the matter.
Microsoft now allows IT administrators to remove pre-installed Microsoft Store apps (also known as in-box apps) using a new app management policy.
Microsoft’s new Windows 11 25H2 policy lets IT admins remove preinstalled Store apps via Intune or Group Policy, no scripts needed.
Microsoft Store (Windows Store) is not the most popular app store, as it is full of bugs, issues, and tends to be unstable.
Fortunately, you can disable the desktop-click-search behavior in Bing Wallpaper’s settings—look for the one labeled “Desktop click opens Bing.” You can also disable Microsoft’s recommendations and the news feed, which are also enabled by default.
